The Pocket Cross: a Reminder You Can Carry With You

It all started with my former employer and friend, Fred Underwood.

On the way home from a business trip, Fred asked me if I would look around the passenger side of my truck for a small cross that might have fallen out of his pocket. After looking, I immediately pulled over and reluctantly told him I couldn’t find it. After looking the next day again, I called his office. He told me he’d found the cross tangled in his keychain. He then told me why his cross was so important to him.

Fred gave his dear friend, who was dying, a small cross. Before his friend died, he also gave Fred a cross. This is the same cross that Fred has kept for years. Fred told me each day, he is reminded of what his cross means when he pulls it out to show others.
